Da Pacem

Texts:

Grant us peace graciously. (Martin Luther)

Da Pacem. (Gregorian tradition: Give Peace.)

Fìat Pax in virtùte tua. (Vulgata Latina, Liber Psalmorum 121/ 7: Peace be within your power/virtue.)

Na hi verena verāni sammant' ida kudācanaṃ, averena ca sammanti. (Dhammapada 1/ 05: Hatred is never indeed appeased by hatred. It is appeased only by non-hatred/loving kindness.)

The phrase "Grant us peace graciously" can and should be sung by performers in translations of their respective national languages. The score with written texts in four languages (German, English, French, Mandarin) serves as a guideline. The four choir sheets without text are used so that every singer can write the text under the music in their own native language.
